Can a Star Wars anime be a good possibility?
8:33 PM
Toki Nakamura
With the recent developments of the Disney acquisition and that J.J Abrahams is directing, the possibilities are endless.
Are episode 7,8 and 9 really necessary? That's a question that has split fans for decades. Will a Disneyfied version of these movies be as good as the originals?
In any way, maybe it's a good time to start thinking of a Star Wars anime. I KNOW that I would watch it, no doubt. Just imagine a Japanese opening and seiyuus. It's not even that expensive to produce if you compare it to a live-action movie. In alliance, Funimation could produce it with the highest values possible, or Madhouse, or Studio Pierrot for a classic shonen mecha feel.
My theory is that Star Wars IS a manga, after all.
Just look at these incredible samples made by fans that should be hired right away!

Author Aoike Yasuko resumes Brother Falco manga

The story follows the sometimes humorous life of a monk named Falco in a German monastery. It is not only set in the same 14th-century timeframe as Alcazar (another Aoike series which centers around King Don Pedro of Castile), but Don Pedro has appeared in the Shūdōshi Falco manga. Aoike launched Shūdōshi Falco in the Summer 1991 issue of Hakusensha's Hanayōbi magazine , but put it on hold a year later.

She picked up the series in Hakusensha's Melody magazine, only to put it on hold again a decade ago. Hakusensha published the manga's book volumes before, but Akita Shoten's Princess Comics imprint will begin publishing the volumes this summer. Princess Gold prepared readers for the return of the series by publishing the manga's first two chapters in a supplemental booklet last month.
No confirmation yet whether she will continue Eroica this year.

Don Quixote manga is being published in Comic@Bunch

XD This is simply awesome!!! I would actually watch a Don Quixote anime, there's plenty of material!
The March issue of Shinchosha's Comic@Bunch premiered a new manga series based on the classic novel Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes on January 21. The novel is being adapted by writer Yūshi Kawata and artist Yukito into a series titled Don Quixote -Ureigao no Kishi: Sono Ai-.
The original 1605-1615 novel followed Alonso Quijano, a man well-read in chivalry. He decides to revive the practice under the name Don Quixote with his sidekick, a farmer named Sancho Panza.
The book inspired two children's anime adaptations in Japan, Don Quijote and Zukkoke Knight - Don De La Mancha, as well as a graphic novel published by Variety Art Works and released in English by One Peace Books.

Store: Sakura ink pens vs COPIC pens: is there really a difference?
4:45 PM
Toki Nakamura
COPIC pens are legendary because of its quality, and part also of this myth is because of the price. And I'm not going to deny it. The design of the markers are lightweight, and you can make smooth, thin and thick lines with such a sophisticated ease.
Their set of B-2 markers is the most complete and durable at $26. Includes all the size range, from the 0.03 to 1.0, plus two brushes. This waterproof ink is compatible with Prismacolor and other brands of color markers.

But, on the other hand, there's Sakura ink pens, the most affordable high quality pens right now. At barely $8 you get also the full range, though the design of the markers is more standard. But it gets the job done. The ink is waterproof and high quality.

Kamisama Dolls manga ends in February
12:58 PM
Toki Nakamura
The February issue of Shogakukan's Monthly Sunday GX magazine announced on Saturday that Hajime Yamamura is ending his Kamisama Dolls fantasy battle manga in the next issue on February 19. The manga will have a color opening page and will adorn the magazine's cover in the next issue to celebrate its ending.
Yamamura began the series in December 2006, and Shogakukan has published 11 volumes thus far. The manga inspired a 13-episode anime series that aired from July to September 2011.
It's ok, I somehow imagined that the premise of this series would fall short sometime. I liked the anime, the mecha concepts are great, but it becomes silly after some episodes.

Store: Wacom Bamboo Splash tablet review
1:45 PM
Toki Nakamura
Wacom sure hit it out of the park with this affordable model, which soared rapidly to the Best Seller spot in Amazon for a price of around $66 ($64 on a good day).
If you want a drawing tablet that is not that big in surface, that can fit anywhere, but with the quality that Wacom is known for, then this ultra practical model is for you.
Wacom Bamboo Splash Tablet
With an active area of 5.8 inch x 3.6 inch, and 1024 levels of sensitivity, this tablet is just what you need for drawing, inking and coloring your manga illustrations or pages. What would normally take me one or two days to complete is taking me half a day now. If I'm really concentrated, 3 hours. You are going to notice the difference as soon as you get started and keep working.
I love that the package comes with ArtRage, which is, in my opinion, the most underrated painting software ever, right up there with Paint Tool SAI.
They managed to conjure a good, slim, catchy design of lime green and sleek black, and not complicating it much with the pen, which feels lightweight and comfortable. You get this item out of the box ready to work and create your magic with your artwork.
I previously used the Vistablet Pen Pad 7.7 inches, and compared to this Wacom model that I purchased for $20 more, I felt that I just got out of Hell, that I paid all my karma duties. And no, it's not that I have anything against Vistablet. It is a good option if you're starting out. But Wacom just beat them, approaching a strategy of catering to startups like us with the Splash model.
Think of the bruhaha when iPod Shuffle first came out. Think of how Apple should have really got out a more affordable iPhone years ago, and not now when Samsung is beating them in everything. Wacom is clever and they know what they are doing. Affordable and practical is the key now.
Currently there is an offer of Wacom CTL471 Bamboo Splash Pen Tablet - Factory Refurbished with 1 year Warranty at only $47.95!
